“Forbid a man to think for himself or to act for himself and you may add the joy of piracy and the zest of smuggling to his life”
 Elbert Hubbard
Ahoy and welcome, me hearties, t'the web home of the Sunken Bones Society!

The Sunken Bones Society is a 501(c)3 (pending) non-profit organization dedicated to raising awareness and contributions for maritime conservation projects and causes from the Great Age of Sail.

Founded in 2007 by Captains Drake and Steehl, the Society began as an endeavor to bring a grand Talk Like A Pirate Day event to the front range of Colorado. It quickly evolved, however, into a charity event intended to raise awareness and funding for the recently burned Cutty Sark.

In 2008, Sunken Bones gained the third point of our triumvirate -- that of Captain Jack McCool. With his background as something of a local piratical celebrity, Jack will be primarily be focusing on promotion and recruiting.

Today, the Sunken Bones Society continues to raise awareness for various maritime charities, as well as host the largest International Talk Like A Pirate Day event in Colorado. Plans are also afoot for even grander piratical events, so keep your eyes on the horizon!

Thank you,
Captains Drake, Steehl & McCool
