There is more treasure in books than in all the pirate’s loot on Treasure Island.

The Sunken Bones Society is a 501(c)3 (pending) non-profit organization dedicated to raising awareness and funding for maritime conservation projects and causes from the Great Age of Sail.

Initially founded in 2007 as a focal point for "all things piratey", and with an eye towards creating the largest Talk Like A Pirate Day event in the west, it was quickly decided that a significant amount of any proceeds would be donated to the Cutty Sark Conservation Fund.

This, in turn, quickly grew into the realization that a party that donates money to a great cause is still just a party, but a great cause that throws a great party, is a little more worthy of our efforts.

We hope that you will join us in this ambition, and attend our events with gusto, open your hearts and wallets to the causes that we have too embraced, and have the time of your life while supporting an important aspect of our maritime heritage.

Thank you,
